Favorite Workout: CrossFit Games Open 16.1
The start of Coach Kyle Roberts’ CrossFit career was not exactly typical. After a few years of eating fast food and playing video games, Kyle realized he needed to make some changes. He set out on a bike ride in 2013 looking for a gym close to his house. Luckily for him and us, he quickly stumbled onto Valley CrossFit. Kyle joined almost immediately and has since become a staple of our community.
Growing up, he played many different sports, eventually specializing in track and field. Unfortunately, his competitive career was cut short in an end of the season meet in high school where he fractured his hip in a race. The injury required surgery and an 8-month recovery, which he attributes to a lack of preventative care. As we all have come to know, Kyle-Style is unique, at times he seems carefree, others, far more disciplined and mature than his years. He hopes to make some major moves in the coming year, from starting a clothing brand, to preparing for an extended overseas expedition, to giving back to his family that is so important to him. Regardless of where he lands, he wants people to enjoy their time and be grateful for what they have been given.
